Questions? I’ve Got You.
I run NewYorkify by myself, so you’re emailing a real person, not a help desk.
Here’s what people ask most. If yours isn’t here, send it to me at the bottom of the page.
ORDERING
Every design on this site links out to its listing on Amazon or Etsy. You click through, pick your size and color, and check out there. They handle payment, printing, shipping, and returns. I handle the designs.
I did for a NY Minute.
Running my own checkout meant ad spend, higher prices, and slower delivery. Selling through Amazon and Etsy keeps prices down and gets your product to you faster. This site is where the designs live and where the stories behind them get told.
Yes. Your payment goes through Amazon or Etsy, not through me. I never see your card information.
Yes. Look under Custom/Personalized in the menu. Those listings let you send your own neighborhood, street, or subway stop and I build it into the design.
Ask me. I keep a running list of requests and a lot of my designs started as somebody’s email. If enough people want the same block, it gets made.
Not through this site. Amazon and Etsy both sell gift cards that work on my listings.
Still stuck? Ask me.
I answer my own email. Send me the question and I’ll get back to you.
SHIPPING & RETURNS
Your shirt gets printed after you order, so build in production time on top of transit. The listing page shows the current delivery estimate for your address. That estimate is more accurate than anything I could post here.
Track it in your Amazon or Etsy account, under your order history. Since they ship it, they have the tracking. I don’t have visibility into individual orders.
Give it 24 hours. Carriers sometimes scan a package as delivered before it lands. If it still hasn’t shown up, contact Amazon or Etsy through your order page and they’ll take care of it.
Only items purchased through Amazon are eligible for returns & exchanges. Their policy governs the window and the process. Start there and it gets handled fast.
At this time, only Amazon ships to many countries. Check the listing page before you order.
The process is different depending on where you purchased the product. Please see my Refunds & Returns policy page for more information.
THE SHIRTS & THE DESIGNS
On Etsy, I sell Comfort Colors 1717. A heavyweight garment-dyed cotton, and the color has depth instead of looking flat.
On Amazon, they sell a Heavy Weight Cotton Shirt. They’re soft out of the bag, not stiff. Check the specific listing for the exact blank and fabric weight.
Most run true to size with a relaxed cut. If you want it fitted, size down. If you want it roomy for sleeping and weekends, stay with your normal size. Each listing has a size chart.
I grew up in the Bronx and I draw the things that once were and are now gone. Objects, stores, blocks, stuff you’d only recognize if you were there. I research each one before I create it, and I use real details, not a generic version of New York.
Because a lot of those brands are still trademarked, even the ones that closed. I build the feeling of the place without copying the logo. It also makes for a better design.
Then tell me about it. New York memories differ by block and by decade. Your New York is specific to you. Not a one size fits all version.
